AUBD Speed Institute Speed Institute is not only the first Melbourne based speed program but also the only program with the ability to transform you into a fantastic mover. Each session is based on sound bio mechanical and physical laws of movement. It is all about the skill of movement. Whilst most programs have you perform drills without a focus on proper application and technique, at the Speed Institute we teach you how to perform each drill with precise application and flawless technique. We anticipate that each participant will secure a firm grounding in the key components of speed. At the Speed Institute, we understand each athlete has a different physiological makeup and playing style, that is why our program supports each individuals bio mechanics. Basketball College Basketball College is the signature program of Australian Basketball Digest. Please view the AUBD Basketball College page. The Game of Life - School Outreach Program The Game of Life programwas established to promote an inclusive culture that fosters equitableparticipation for student‐athletes from diverse backgrounds. The program is aimed at equipping ouryouth with life skills to help them overcome the challenging issues in theirlives, such as bullying, truancy, violence, drug and alcohol abuse and criminalactivity. Using basketball as ananalogy for life, this program challenges each student to make a choice aboutwhether they want to participate in the game. Each student will need to posethe same question pertaining to his or her own life; “do I wish to participateor sit this one out?” Therefore, each participant is faced with the decision totake responsibility for the outcome of his or her game, The Game of Life. The Game of Life challengesparticipants to identify their own weaknesses and work on strengtheningthemselves in those areas. Participants ultimately learn that success as anathlete and as a human being depends on their implementation of learned lifeskills. Individual Performance Development (IPD) Program The Individual Performance Development (IPD) Program is a one-on-one and small group based program designed to maximize the development of juniors aged 8 - 18 in a short amount of time. To start, each athlete is assessed on their individual skill level to gauge strengths and weaknesses. Once the assessment is complete, a tailor-made program is devised to address the identified weaknesses of the athlete. The length of the program depends on how quickly each participant develops his or her weaknesses.
